Tihar

Tihar is the another important festival of hinducelebrated in Pokhara. It is celebrated for five days. According to hindu Tihar is related to God of death Yamraj so itf is also called "Yam Panchak". On the first day of Tihar devotees worship to crow, as the messanger yamraj. On that day devotes use to give food to crow. On second day  is worshiped. Dog is worshiped for its faithfulness and as a good friend of a people. According to hindusim dog was the only one. Who supported yudisthir to go to heaven at mahabharat. On the third day cow is worshiped. Cow is belived as lord laxmi. On this day we can see much more exictment on the people. On that day devotes wake up early at the morning, take a bath and worship to cow and at the evening they blow lot of light in their house, Dipswhika. It is belived that on that day laxmi come to every one house. People use to sing folk song and goes to every body's house.

            On the morning of forth day people worship to the mountain, Govhardhan and Ox. People worship the Govhardhan for the natural resources it provide and people worship to ox for helping them in agriculture. On the night of the forth day  other worship to the human body of their children for the good health which is known as "man Puja." On the fifth and last day of tihar sister. Worship to God for the good health and happy life of their brother. It is belived that Yamraj too goes to meet his sister "Yamuna" to celebrate this festival.

            In this way by worshiping Tihar ends.
