Dashain

Among all the festival of Nepal Dashain is known as biggest and important festival. It is also known as national festival too. It is celebrated for continuously nine days. In Nepal Dashain is celebrated from many many years ageo. It starts at the month of Ashwin. According to Hinduism it starts at sukla pratipada (Ghatasthapana). On the first day the devotes use to grow jamara on their houses. On the same day devotes usef to go to temples. They worship the god and startf to singf religious song (Bha Jan). It goes on for four days. On the next day (Saptami) we can see more exictment. On that day all the family member gather who ever are far from family also come back to home. On that day thef family members use to eat some delicious meal. On the next day (Astami) devotes use to worship the lord Durga and give Bali of goat. On the eight day of Dashain devotes use to worship God Godess and kill the goat. On the ninth day all the family member put on tika from the older people and gain blessing. Jamara, which was planted on the first day is used today. After tika Jamara is placed on the ear. In this way by taking the blessing from older this festival ends.
